December 13, 1995 Norman, OK OU Memorial Ballroom
REVIEW
Kepone opened the show, and immediately let everyone know that they were very disappointed in us, because some asshole stole the $400 they were paid to play that night from their dressing room. At the end of their set, they thanked tJL for fronting them $400 bucks so they could eat and make it to the next show.
Pegboy was next, and they played fast songs and rocked. The singer kept egging the audience on, which was kind of dangerous since the show was on a second-story floor with two very large windows to the left of the stage/audience. They played an incredible version of "That's When I Reach For My Revolver" by Mission of Burma. People were sweating a lot by this time.
The Jesus Lizard came out, and David Yow griped about the $400 theft, and added that a camera was also stolen. They then lurched into Sea Sick, and the next hour and 45 minutes are a blur. The sound was incredible. They played everything you would expect from Goat and Liar, and played 5 or six songs from Down. The show ended with "The Associate", which kind of petered out after something in Duane's setup broke, and Mac and Mr. Sims did a jazzy improv while David told a dirty joke. Mac finally got tired and stopped, and the show was over.
