By far my favorite show for many reasons. First of all its my home town, but one of the best parts about it was before the show my friend and I did an Interview with Yow for the Lehigh radio station. This enable us to enter the place forbidden to anyone under 21 which was us 20 yr. olds. Some things that I learned in the interview was (David has a beautiful wife) he showed us the picture in his wallet in the very beginning of the interview. That Blue was one of the longest albums to produce and mix it took a little over 7 weeks where as Shot took 4. JL has a 3 album contract with capital, so that means only one more left. When I asked if he thought they were going to produce more after that Yow said maybe one more. Yow wants to do more moody music like Eucalyptus so we will see what is in store for us on the next album.
The interview lasted for a hour where afterward I shared some of my Pool knowledge Yow and Davey the drummer of SPE. Betting these two rock-n-rollers wasn't a huge challenge although Yow did teach me a little something. Upstairs at Nicks is a very small place so the crowd was tight sound was crystal and Jesus Lizard performed with an eccentric charisma. During the last song of the night, 'Monkey Trick', Duane decided to pull a trick of his own and show of his kung-fu skills on some dumb drunk fat motherfuckin mouthbreather who was dogin his fine oriental lady. I grabbed DDFMM's head while the blows continued for this guy made a big mistake. The night ended with adrenalin pumping through the tired, weak, numb, crowd with a night they won't forget.
