Review #1

the Jesus Lizard is the best live band ever. So much happened while they played for about 2 hours. Yow was constantly in the crowd. Some guy kept spitting on Yow so he stole his glasses. He gave them back and they guy kept spitting so he smacked him in the head with the microphone and punched him. Then he came out with this huge super soaker and sprayed everyone down trying to sing at the same time with the microphone in his mouth. Later on he stripped..he took of his shoes and threw his socks into the crowd. then he took off his pants and put them on his arms. Then he decided to crowd surfed in his underwear. When he got back on stage he took off his underwear. Later he said "You guys should see us shit. There is no stall in the bathroom." Then he pointed at a stage hand and said "You should see Barney shit. It looks like his leg is pregnant when he shits!" On Puss, half the song he could sing because he went too far into the crowdand screwed the wire up. That's all I can remember now. Sims seems like he is in a trance when he plays. Both times I've seen them live he is either staring straight ahead or at someone. The other band members rarely looked at Yow except when he climbed on top of the speakerstack, and when he got tied up in the microphone cord and couldn't sing. After hearing them live and listening to Blue now, it sounds a lot better I think.

hi.yeah i was at the show too. i was the guy whose hat david yow stole and wore for a little while. i was amazed there was a baby in the audience... i think it was a better show than the one at vzds earlier this year. i am glad they played blockbuster and then comes dudley, the two i yelled for. i was amazed at how many songs they played off of blue...i can learn, horse doctor man, eucalyptus, cold water, and soft damage. they also played one song that sounded new but i didnt really recognize it at all. it had a really synth sounding guitar part. they played seasick at soundcheck but not during the actualshow...and during the encore they played a cover song but i dont really know who it was by. i guess most people left after the chainsaw kittens. pretty pathetic. they have to be the worst band i have ever heard in my life...there were a couple people taping the show, i would like to get a copy of one. especially that one girl yow was mugging it up for. hmm...they played two songs from shot. more beautiful than barbie, and thumbscrews. they played boilermaker, fly on the wall, gladiator, puss, then comes dudley, nub, monkey trick, mouth breather. blockbuster, bloody mary. thats like 20 songs. oh plus the one ive never heard, and the cover song. 22 songs. i think they sounded way better than on their live album. i am beginning to think a lot of the songs are pretty good off their new album. i liked shot a lot too. i think liar, and down were loaded with a lot of filler in comparison to goat and the new ones. did they play anything from pure? i cant remember. james

hi yeah, they played 'bloody mary' and the aforementioned 'blockbuster' from "pure". i was there, working it, as they say. the texas shows were better......dpdenison

at the show in ok. the chainsaw kittens played, the lead singer is gay. they played right before JL. the 1st song JLplayed was "Puss" right when they started playing yow jumped onto some old guy, who was about 65. then he went to the back and his microphone cut off. he crowd surfed a lot, once in his undy's. later he took off his pants and put the on his arms then dropped his boxers. he also shot people w/ a water-gun. he then went into the crowd again he took a girls ciggarette and took a puff and threw it on the ground then someone pushed him into me so i pushed him back. this was a good show......oh yeah yow punched a guy for squirting mayonaise on him then the same guy spit on him so yow hit the guy with the mike. and another guy got hit in the nuts cause a girl punched his balls while he was jumping up and down...........the drummer looked like a retarded guy while he was playing the drums. the bass player would stare at people while he was playing.....done
