DD: There would have to be some guidelines. First, I would have to be very

5) Q: How did you get the bass sound on "Mailman? Alogusz
   DD posing as D.W. Sims: Quite simply, put my Memphis bass through an Ampeg SVT classic, a
Gallien-Kruger w/ Dietz cabinets, and a Traynor 50 watt head w/ a Dietz
cabinet. All are
miked as well as put directly into the board.

6) Q: How did you get the bass sound on "bedazzled" by the Love
Interest? Alogusz   DD posing as D.W.Sims: I borrowed a Gretsch hollow body and put it through a
Fender bassman.

7) Q: Where did you come up with the lyrics for "Lady Shoes?" I think
you said it was a book Albini loaned you, but you may have been
referring to another song. If so, what was the book?  Chris
DY    Lady Shoes is two jokes I made up put to music. Rope was from a book

DD: any band that isn’t real, any band that is doing it to be hip or make

D.D.: I pinched a nerve in my back right before we had to play a festival in
France--that was
my worst moment onstage, ever.

DY   Most of the cuntry is pretty good to play in,  but Boise can suck my rash

34) Why didnt Mac stay in the band, and for touring having someone like
Martin Atikins just play in the band while on tour? Alogusz
DY     Mac had family obligations. I really can’t blame him for leaving, it’s
just terribly sad
to have had to say good bye to him.   Martin    -   He would probably charge
us about 10K a
show.
DD: Mac had family obligations, Martin Atkins has his own projects to do and
label to run.

35) Has there ever been any embarrassing equipment failures during a
show? Alogusz
D.D.: When we opened for Bush at Pine Knob, something in my rack came
unplugged
during the first song, causing my stuff to go silent. All my friends and
family were there.

36)If you weren’t in a band, what would you do to keep yourself from
starving? Alogusz
DY   Eat.
DD: I’d probably be assembling and testing gasoline pumps or working in the
interlibrary
loans department of a library.

DY     There is a great new band called Kick Amy, and I think they’re going to

DD: No, the extra songs from the Blue sessions are on the EP.

42) Q: How does the band usaully go about writing songs? Like, do they just
form out of jamming? When do the vocals usaully get written?

DD: The songs usually start with a basic idea contributed by myself or David
Sims. We play them over and over at rehearsals until someone comes up with
something to go with it. The vocals usually go on last.

43) If the rarity CD ever gets released, what label will most likely put it
out?

DD: Most likely Touch and Go or Motown.
